Primary Engraver, Computer/Network Systems Administrator
I use computers to interface with robotic engraving units
for the purpose of engraving on metal, plastic, wood, acrylic,
glass and crystal. Both rotary engraving and laser units are
used for this process.
I am in charge of all computer upgrades, system installation,
network setup and administration, troubleshooting, repairs, and
changes. At the beginning of my employment, Ribbon Specialties
had two old IBM XT systems and two 286 computers. I have upgraded
the company to include seven networked pentium class computers
with separate workgroups. I have also added an automatic backup
routine customized for the particular business to ensure that
data will not be lost.
